The Ghana Hotels Association (GHA) has launched the second edition of its annual National Hotels Awards in Accra.

The Awards slated for January 21, 2017 at the Kempiski Hotel, is to honour individuals, dedicated staff and hotel facilities in the industry.

GNA - Players in the hospitality industry have been urged to employ qualified personnel and train them in relevant skills to enable them to offer satisfactory services to customers.

Madam Adeline Boateng, the Human Resource Manager of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), who stated this, said players in the country’s hospitality industry paid little attention to quality service delivery even though it was one area that would propel the country as a destination of choice to tourists.

He however noted that the few tourists’ site that had been development, tourists were not adequately patronising them because of the engagement of unqualified personnel to man the facilities.

Source: Daily Graphic Ghana / 03.11.2015 - About 60 workers of the African Sun Hotel located at the Airport City in Accra are up in arms with former management of the hotel, demanding what they described as their un-paid severance package.

The workers have accused the management of hiding behind the sale of the hotel to a new owner to deny pay them their due. - According to the Ghana Tourist Board (GTB), there are now more than 3300 hotels and guesthouses licensed nationwide. Showing the extraordinary development within just 7 years, Ghana has gone trough.
